Website cost in Pune in 2026: what you pay and why
What drives the price of a business website in Pune, the questions to ask before you pay, and the costs people forget.

If you are searching for the website cost in Pune, you have probably noticed the problem already: one agency quotes a few thousand rupees, another quotes several lakhs, and both call it "a business website". This guide explains why the prices differ so much, what actually moves the number, and what to ask so you compare like with like.
Why quotes for the same website look so different
A website is not a product with a fixed price tag. It is a piece of work, and the price depends on how much thinking, design, writing, building and testing goes into it. A quote that looks cheap often leaves out something you will need later, such as copywriting, mobile testing, basic SEO set-up or the time to fix problems after launch. A higher quote is not automatically better either. What matters is what is written in it.
The five things that drive website cost
1. Type of website
A simple brochure site for a clinic, tutor or consultant is the cheapest to build. A site that sells products online needs a catalogue, a cart, payments, shipping rules and order emails, so it costs more. Booking systems, member logins, custom dashboards and mobile apps sit higher still, because they involve real software development.
2. Number of pages
Every page needs to be planned, written, designed and checked on phones. A five-page site (home, about, services, gallery, contact) is a very different job from a 12-page site with a blog and separate pages for each service.
3. Custom design or a ready-made template
A template is cheaper and quicker, but your site will look and behave like thousands of others and you work within its limits. A custom design is planned around your customers and your goals. Neither is wrong; the right choice depends on your budget and how much your website needs to do for the business.
4. Content: who writes it and who supplies photos
Many projects run late because the business has not written its content. If the agency writes the text and sorts the images, that is extra work and should be in the quote. If you supply them, the price comes down, but you must deliver on time.
5. Speed, SEO and long-term support
A site that loads slowly on a phone loses visitors. Proper page structure, titles, descriptions, local business details and a sitemap take time to set up. Ongoing care (updates, backups, small changes) is a separate cost that is easy to forget.
Website cost in Pune: what ToBrand publishes
We would rather you see real numbers than guess. For website design, our Launch package starts at ₹24,999 and covers up to 5 custom pages. Our Growth package is ₹59,999 for up to 12 pages and a blog. Online stores start from ₹59,999. All prices are plus GST, and a typical website takes three to six weeks. Apps and custom software are quoted after we understand the scope, so we do not publish a starting price for those. You can see the full details on the website design service page.
Use these as a yardstick. If another quote is far below them, ask what has been left out. If it is far above, ask what you are getting for the difference.
Costs people forget to ask about
- Domain name: the address of your website, renewed every year. Check that it is registered in your name.
- Hosting: where the site lives. Ask whether it is included, for how long, and what the renewal price is.
- Email addresses: a professional address on your own domain is often a separate monthly charge.
- Paid plugins or themes: some platforms need yearly licences.
- GST: confirm whether the quote includes it.
- Changes after launch: find out how many rounds of edits are included and what extra work costs.
Questions to ask every agency in Pune
- What exactly is included, page by page?
- Who writes the content, and who finds the images?
- Will the site be tested on phones, and is it built to load quickly?
- Is basic SEO set-up included, such as titles, descriptions and a sitemap?
- Who owns the domain, hosting account and the final files?
- What happens after launch, and what does support cost?
- How long will it take, and what do you need from me to keep to that?
How to decide your budget
Start from what the website must do. If it only needs to show customers in Kothrud or Hadapsar that you exist and let them call you, a compact site is enough. If you want to rank for searches, publish useful articles and take enquiries around the clock, plan for more pages and some SEO work. If you sell products, plan for an online store from the start rather than adding it later.
It also helps to think about what one extra customer is worth to you. For a clinic, a coaching institute or a service business, a website that brings in even a few extra enquiries a month can justify a considered budget. A site that nobody can find, or that frustrates visitors on a phone, is expensive at any price.
A sensible way to compare
Ask two or three agencies to quote against the same written list: pages, features, content, SEO set-up, support. Put the answers side by side. The cheapest quote is rarely the one that includes everything, and the most expensive is rarely the only one that does. Look at past work too. Our web design in Pune page shows how we work locally, and you can see finished projects on our work page.
